City Hall Academy
All applications are due by Friday, February 14th
LA Forward Institute’s City Hall Academy aims to build a pipeline of talented and effective leaders to staff progressive LA City Council offices. Through six full-day in-person Saturday workshops, the academy will train community members whose career trajectories have prepared them to be strong candidates for jobs as City Council staffers.
This program will support its participants to:
Understand the impact they can make as a LA City Council staff member
Deepen their knowledge about what working in an LA City Council office is like, through case studies and intimate conversations with past and current staffers
Explore key skills and competencies that have historically supported effective leadership at LA City Hall
Grow their network of leaders experienced in LA City Hall work and politics
Prepare them to navigate an initial application and interview for possible positions
The City Hall Academy will take place on six Saturdays in-person in spring 2025, 9am-4pm:
March 22
April 5
April 26
May 10

Applicants must be able to attend 5 out of 6 workshops to be accepted, and cannot miss the March 22nd opening workshop.
